What to see

Luzzu Fleet & Sunday Market

The iconic photo spot; Sunday mornings bring the island's largest open-air market for fish, produce, and crafts.

St. Peter's Pool

A stunning natural swimming pool with flat rocks for sunbathing and deep blue water for cliff jumping, 20 mins walk from the village.

Fort St. Lucian & Delimara Peninsula

A 17th-century coastal fort (now aquaculture centre) on a scenic peninsula offering coastal walks and quieter rocky coves.

Experiences

Marsaxlokk retains an authentic working harbour vibe distinct from the tourist hubs. The bay is a forest of luzzu boats painted in bright blues, reds, and yellows, each bearing the protective Eye of Osiris. The daily market spills onto the promenade, but Sunday transforms it into a major event with stalls selling fresh catch, honey, lace, and souvenirs. The parish church of Our Lady of Pompeii dominates the square. For swimming, St. Peter's Pool—a natural limestone swimming pool carved into the cliffs—is a short walk or boat ride away. Dining al fresco at a waterfront restaurant for aljotta (fish soup) or grilled swordfish is the quintessential Marsaxlokk experience.
