Experiences

Perched on the rugged mainland coast directly across from the southern tip of Corfu, Parga feels distinctively island-like with its vibrant waterfront, colorful neoclassical houses, and forested hillsides. The town curves gracefully around a protected bay punctuated by Panagia islet, a tiny rock outcrop crowned by a white chapel and French-era fort that swimmers can reach from the shore.

Overlooking the harbor stands the ruins of an impressive Venetian fortress, nestled amidst pine trees with sweeping views across the town and the open sea. Parga serves as a wonderful base for swimming at golden beaches like Valtos and Lichnos, as well as venturing inland to hike the cool, emerald waters of the mythical Acheron River.
