The port is huge and the cruise berths sit 1.5–2.5 km from the metro station. There is an internal shuttle and taxis, but the quickest way is usually to walk or take a short taxi to Piraeus station (blue Line 3).

💡 Buy a day ticket (4.10 EUR) if you plan to mix metro and bus
💡 Sit on the right side of the metro for an Acropolis glimpse near Syntagma

Acropolis and Parthenon

Climb through the Propylaea to the Parthenon and the Erechtheion. Timed entry has applied since 2024 and from April 2025 the single ticket costs 30 EUR (the old combination ticket no longer exists).

Plaka and Anafiotika quarter

Walking down from the Acropolis drops you into the old town: whitewashed lanes, the Anafiotika steps and tavernas draped in bougainvillea. This is the best area to wander slowly.
