Experiences

Just twenty minutes north of Civitavecchia, Tarquinia rises gracefully above the coastal plain. Known in antiquity as Tarquinii, it was one of the twelve major cities of the Etruscan League, boasting extraordinary artistic and historical significance.

The town combines a wonderfully intact medieval center—complete with defensive walls, imposing stone towers, and Romanesque churches—with world-renowned archaeology. The UNESCO-listed Necropolis of Monterozzi houses hundreds of underground tombs painted with vivid, millennia-old frescoes depicting daily Etruscan banquets, dances, and athletic games.
